Members of 7KBW are noted for their wealth of experience in arbitration work, both as advocates and as appointed arbitrators.
All members of Chambers frequently appear before a wide variety of arbitral tribunals including those administered by domestic and international arbitral institutions such as the ICC (International Chamber of Commerce) and the LCIA (London Court of International Arbitration) and those conducted under the auspices of different rules including LMAA terms or the UNCITRAL rules, as well as ad hoc references.
Additionally, certain present and former members of 7 KBW accept appointments as arbitrators and have experience sitting on various tribunals, including trade tribunals such as IGPA, GAFTA, RSA.
Chambers’ arbitration work also extends to arbitration applications to the Commercial Court which retains a supervisory jurisdiction over arbitrations conducted in England and Wales pursuant to the Arbitration Act 1996 (and its predecessors). Members have extensive experience in preparing and arguing such applications whether the application is concerned with the validity of the arbitration agreement itself, the removal of arbitrators, the enforcement of the arbitration award, challenging the arbitration award or any other application permitted under the Arbitration Act 1996 (and its predecessors).
